A Historical Overview of Bijouterie Italienne
Located in the heart of Little Italy, Bijouterie Italienne has become much more than a store: it’s a cornerstone of the Montreal community.
It all began in December 1959 when Pino Miserendino, a trained watchmaker, opened the boutique on Saint-Zotique Street. Soon after, Pina, an exceptional jeweller, joined him not only as a professional partner but also as a life companion. Together, they built a business founded on passion, craftsmanship, and a love for artistry.
From a modest 400-square-foot shop emerged a story of growth and development. We listened, learned, and evolved to meet the growing needs of our clientele, especially the Italian community, which sought 18-karat gold jewellery.
The foundations laid by Pino and Pina have spanned generations. Their love for the craft was passed on to their children, Marco and Paola, who not only carried on their legacy but enriched the business with their own talents and experiences. Marco, trained in business management, brought a modern and strategic vision, while Paola, a jeweler and designer, infused the collections with her unique artistic touch.
Since 1992, they have jointly led Bijouterie Italienne with deep respect for family traditions and a forward-looking perspective. Today, we are proud to see this legacy continue within our team and with our loyal clients.
The arrival of luxury brands such as Rolex, Gucci, Pomellato, and Messika marked a turning point in our history. These collaborations allowed us to meet growing demand while expanding our spaces to provide clients with an exceptional level of service.
The trust-based relationship we have built with our clients, rooted in attentive listening and personalized service, remains at the core of our philosophy. This loyalty, passed down from generation to generation, is a testament to the unique place Bijouterie Italienne holds in the hearts of our clients.
In 2018, we inaugurated a private Rolex lounge, an exclusive space for watch enthusiasts to gather in a refined setting. A second space dedicated to diamonds reflects our commitment to offering the pinnacle of luxury and sophistication.
Despite this growth, we have never lost sight of what makes us strong: deeply rooted family values inspired by the Italian tradition. We are also honored that Marco Miserendino was named a Certified Registered Jeweller by the American Gem Society in 2017, a recognition of our commitment to excellence and ethical standards in the industry.
In 2018, Marco was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Jewellers Association, further strengthening our desire to showcase Canadian expertise on an international scale.
65 years of history and excellence are not merely a celebration of the past. They symbolize our commitment to innovation, to perpetuating our craftsmanship, and to honoring the trust you place in us every day.
