As seen in film

Hamilton & cinema

For over 90 years, Hamilton has been the watchmaker of filmmakers, earning its place on the silver screen in over 500 films and TV shows. From classic Hollywood to modern blockbusters, Hamilton watches have been chosen for their distinctive style, historical accuracy, and ability to define iconic characters.

A Legacy in Hollywood

Hamilton's cinematic journey began in 1932 with Shanghai Express, starring Marlene Dietrich. In 1951, The Frogmen put Hamilton’s military watches in action, while the Ventura, with its futuristic design, became a symbol of cool on Elvis Presley’s wrist in Blue Hawaii (1961).

Since then, Hamilton timepieces have appeared in countless films, adding authenticity and storytelling depth. The brand has collaborated with leading costume designers and prop masters, and in some cases, has even designed custom watches for major productions.

Interstellar & the Murph Watch

In Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar (2014), Hamilton created the now-legendary Murph watch, a pivotal plot device symbolizing the unbreakable bond between father and daughter. Due to overwhelming fan demand, the Khaki Field Murph was later released, bringing a piece of movie history to collectors.

Men in Black & the Ventura

A watch as daring as its wearers, the Hamilton Ventura has been an essential part of the Men in Black uniform since 1997. Recognizable by its bold, triangular case, the Ventura embodies the futuristic style of the world’s most famous alien-fighting agents, appearing in every Men in Black film, including the latest installment with Tessa Thompson’s Agent M (2019).

Custom Creations & Tenet

Hamilton’s expertise goes beyond supplying watches—it creates them. For Christopher Nolan’s Tenet (2020), the brand designed a custom Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO, integrating a countdown screen to track the film’s complex time-bending sequences. A true example of innovation meeting cinematic storytelling.

Honoring Filmmakers

Beyond the screen, Hamilton celebrates the magic of filmmaking with the Behind the Camera Awards. Since 2006, these prestigious awards have recognized the unsung heroes of cinema—the editors, production designers, cinematographers, and more—who bring movie visions to life.

From sci-fi epics to action-packed thrillers, Hamilton remains an essential part of film history, proving that time is a story worth telling.
