Grand Seiko Sport Collection Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009: A New Horological Powerhouse
First Brilliant Hard Titanium Case in the Sport Collection
Grand Seiko continues to push the boundaries of horological innovation with the launch of the Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009, a powerful chronograph inspired by the brand's iconic lion emblem. This model boasts a bold and commanding design further enhanced by the use of Brilliant Hard Titanium, a first for Grand Seiko's Sport Collection.
This high-resistance material is twice as hard as standard stainless steel while remaining lightweight and corrosion-resistant. The Zaratsu-polished surfaces shine with remarkable brilliance, reflecting light with intensity. The case, redesigned to amplify the lion-inspired aesthetic, features claw-like brushed surfaces that extend from the lugs to the bezel. The chronograph pushers have also been refined for improved ergonomics and a smoother, more precise operation.

A Dial Inspired by the Majesty of the Lion
The Tokyo Lion Tentagraph's dial features a textured pattern reminiscent of a lion's mane flowing in the wind. It incorporates three-dimensional sub-dials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, reducing the gap between the markings and the hands for enhanced readability. The diamond-cut, faceted indexes evoke the sharp claws of a lion, reflecting light beautifully while holding ample Lumibrite for optimal legibility in low-light conditions.
A Technically Advanced and Comfortable Strap
This timepiece is paired with a newly developed rubber strap that is 2.7 times stronger than the silicone straps typically used by Grand Seiko. A subtle paw-print motif on the inner side of the strap adds a playful touch to the lion-inspired theme. The slightly curved case back ensures a secure and comfortable fit on the wrist, while the High-Intensity Titanium folding clasp provides a sleek and secure finishing touch.

High-Precision Chronograph Performance
Introduced two years ago, the Tentagraph Caliber 9SC5 is Grand Seiko’s first mechanical chronograph. Featuring a Dual Impulse Escapement and twin barrels, it delivers high-beat precision and an impressive 72-hour power reserve, even with the chronograph function running. To ensure unwavering accuracy, Grand Seiko extended its rigorous testing process by three additional days.
The Grand Seiko Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009 will be available at Grand Seiko Boutiques starting August 2025.
