Featuring Manufacture movements, excellent legibility, and a timeless design, the various Black Bay collections meet the needs of both divers and everyday watch enthusiasts.

What is the difference between the Black Bay 54, the Black Bay 58, and the Black Bay?

These three models share the same aesthetic DNA, but are primarily distinguished by their diameter, proportions, and historical inspiration.

The Black Bay 54 has a 37mm case directly inspired by Tudor's first diving watch from 1954. Compact and elegant, it is particularly suitable for slender wrists or vintage watch enthusiasts.

The Black Bay 58 features a 39mm diameter inspired by a 1958 Tudor model. It offers an excellent balance between comfort, wrist presence, and versatility.

The Black Bay is generally offered in 41mm. More contemporary, it offers a wider variety of dial, bracelet, and complication options.

What size Tudor Black Bay should I choose?

The choice mainly depends on your wrist size and the desired look.

  • 37 mm: Black Bay 54, ideal for slender wrists or a discreet vintage style.
  • 39 mm: Black Bay 58, the most versatile size for most wrists.
  • 41 mm: Black Bay, Black Bay GMT, Black Bay Chrono or Black Bay One, offering a more pronounced presence.
  • 43 mm: Black Bay Bronze, intended for fans of large cases.

The main thing is to choose a watch that remains comfortable for everyday wear while matching your style.

What is the difference between the Black Bay GMT and the Black Bay Pro?

Both models feature a GMT function, allowing them to display a second time zone.

The Black Bay GMT is equipped with a 24-hour rotatable bezel, which also allows for tracking a third time zone. Its aesthetic harks back to classic travel watches.

The Black Bay Pro features a fixed 24-hour bezel and a more utilitarian design, inspired by exploration watches. It prioritizes robustness and legibility.

What is the difference between the Black Bay Chrono and the other Black Bays?

The Black Bay Chrono stands out for its chronograph function, allowing time intervals to be measured using two counters and pushers located on either side of the crown.

It retains the aesthetic codes of the collection while integrating a COSC-certified Manufacture movement specially developed for this complication.

What is COSC certification?

COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) certification is one of the most prestigious distinctions in Swiss watchmaking. Issued by an independent body founded in 1973, it guarantees that a movement meets the industry's most stringent precision requirements.
Each movement is individually tested, before the watch is assembled, under rigorous conditions. Once certified, it obtains the title of chronometer—a recognition reserved for timepieces offering exceptional precision.
This certification is extremely rare: only about 3% of Swiss watch production benefits from it, making it a true hallmark of excellence and prestige.

What is METAS certification?

The Master Chronometer METAS certification goes further by testing the complete watch after assembly. This includes checking accuracy in real-world conditions, resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, power reserve, and water resistance.

Are all Tudor Black Bay watches equipped with an automatic movement?

Yes. All watches in the Black Bay collection are powered by a Tudor Manufacture automatic movement. Depending on the model, they offer up to approximately 70 hours of power reserve, as well as excellent precision and reliability for everyday use.

Are Tudor Black Bay bracelets interchangeable?

Depending on the reference, Black Bay watches are available with a steel, rubber, leather or fabric strap. Several recent models feature the T-fit rapid adjustment system, which allows for easy, tool-free adjustment of the bracelet length for greater everyday comfort.
